Thank you for taking the time to visit this page.
In some respects it is the most important page on our site because without it we probably wouldn’t be doing something this ridiculous! I would like to stress that is not a “feel sorry for me” page but something tangible to remember not only Bob but also why we are doing this bloody stupid ride!
People who know us will appreciate we are not exactly built for speed or endurance – unless they are with reference to drinking (or eating, in Cuz’s case)
The sad loss of my Dad has spurred us on to do something worthwhile for a charity that you will all recognise. For a condition that more than 1 in 3 of us will be diagnosed with during our lifetime – 267,000 new cases were registered in 1999. Everyone knows someone who has been affected by Cancer. Maybe that is why you have visited this page?
The type of Cancer that Dad fought for two years accounts for 3% (9,000 pa) of cancer cases in the UK and is the 7th most common form of cancer in men. Statistically, a GP will only see a patient with lymphoma about once every three years.
Your support in our adventure can and will help the detection, treatment and research into all forms of Cancer.
Once again, thank you for visiting this page.
Wish us luck!
Any money raised by this obsurd attempt to ride from 'end2end' will go towards researching cancer and developing cures. For more details on Cancer Research UK visit their website for details of the fantastic work that they do.
